It’s easy to look at the world we live in today and wonder where it all went wrong. The vast majority of men reading this article will have no problem with equality for women, yet you’re made to feel guilty for just being a man, and all thanks to third wave feminism.
These people are nothing more than bitter single women doing their very best to brainwash any woman they encounter to become as bitter as they are, avoid relationships and marriage, and basically treat all men as potential sexual predators.
The irony here is that after several years of feminazi propaganda the tables are finally starting to turn because the same third wave feminists who encouraged women to stay single and not have children are now crying about how they can’t find a man to settle down and have children with.
What they forgot is that biology, and the human impulse to reproduce, has absolutely no interest in their feelings or ideology.
If they’re wondering where all the good men have gone, they need to look at South America, Eastern Europe, and throughout Asia.
Men flock to these destinations in their thousands looking for women who actually want to get married, which is exactly what they find in these countries.
Men basically got sick of being spoken down to and treated badly and blamed for things they would never dream of doing, so they left the Western dating scene.
Of all the international dating locations you might have thought to visit, we’re pretty sure that Cambodia didn’t even make the list.
And you’re not alone in that thinking because we know that this country is still experiencing the early stages of international dating, so most men simply overlook it and head for Thailand, China, or the Philippines instead.
But in this comprehensive article we’re going to explain why Cambodia can be such a great choice for finding single women for marriage.
So, grab a beverage of choice, sit down and get ready to take notes.
What You Need To Know
Like most Western men, you probably know little or nothing about Cambodia. Students of history might be aware of the troubled past of the country, all thanks to the Communist dictator Pol Pot, but besides that Cambodia is simply a country in Asia that you know very little about.
For some weird reason this country has yet to become swamped with tourists, even though there are multiple historic sites of interest, and a dedicated tourist industry.
This is still an extremely poor country by international standards, so it lacks the financial resources to become the modern nation it wants to be.
For right now the only real foreigners who tend to visit Cambodia are either young backpackers travelling the world on a budget, or old men looking to enjoy the low cost of living, the cheap beer, and even cheaper prostitutes.
What there is a distinct shortage of in Cambodia is young, single, financially stable men from Europe, North America, and Australasia. It’s one of those few countries where many local women have never seen a young foreign man on the local dating scene.
In some places people may actually point and stare at you simply because you’re not a backpacker or a 70-year-old alcoholic whose best years are behind them.
Cambodia is a country of opportunity for single men looking for Cambodian mail order brides. It’s important that we draw a distinction here between mail-order brides and international dating, because the concept of mail order brides in Cambodia is very much frowned upon.
The reason for this is that there has in the past been significant human trafficking of young women to China and other countries in Asia. So we recommend that you do not talk about mail-order brides while you’re here, even if you’re just joking about it.
The Cambodian government recently passed legislation banning Khmer women from marrying Western men who are over 50 years of age.
Even if you’re under 50 you still need to be able to prove that you earn between US$2,500 and US$2,850 per month. This was done to discourage older men preying on Khmer women who were desperate to escape from poverty.
Something else to be aware of about Cambodia is that overall the country still struggling to enter the 21st century. Visiting here is like visiting Thailand in the 1950s, which is charming in its own way, but also means that the country is still finding its footing in a modern world.
If you can imagine what most of Asia looked like before certain grubby Western influences, then you’ll have a pretty accurate image of what Cambodia is like today.
What will surprise you is the number of Khmer women who speak passable English, even though the education system in the country is still struggling to recover from its days under socialism.
Girls you meet won’t speak fluent English, but it will be much better than you expected. So, you can skip on the language lessons this time.
Your first instinct will be to head to a local bar for a drink after you’ve checked into your hotel. That’s fine, but never accept a free drink from a strange woman.
They’ll be charming AF, but the beer is drugged and you’re about to become the next victim of a very profitable mugging scam that targets naïve tourists.
The first thing you’re probably wondering about is what Cambodian women look like? This all depends on their ethnic heritage, so you’ll find that the vast majority of Cambodian women are just over 5 foot tall, have almond-shaped brown eyes, long straight dark hair and are obviously quite dark skinned.
If, however the girl has at least one Chinese parent you’ll find that she is slightly taller than the average Khmer girl, and her skin is slightly lighter as well.
There are certain things which are consistent across all Khmer women, and these include the fact that even women considered to be somewhat chunky here are still far slimmer than women who carry the same label in Western countries.
In fact, girls who are considered to be overweight here will be considered to be an ideal weight in North America or Europe, for example.
Cambodian women are gentle by their very nature, sometimes to the point of appearing submissive but never assume that to be the case. The culture of any given country will have a direct impact on the behavior of its citizens, and in Cambodia that has led to women being warm and compassionate towards others.
You’re probably struggling to remember the last time a Western woman showed you any warmth or compassion without first seeing the contents of your checking account, right?
That doesn’t mean that you need to be rich to land Khmer brides because her average monthly income is less than $200, so whatever you’re earning above that will seem like a fortune to her.
In fact, if you earn anything over $1500 per month that means you can live a life she could only ever dream of.
Because the women here are naturally petite and look quite young it can be very difficult to estimate their age – a girl who is 21 might look like she’s 12 and a girl who’s 15 might be mistaken for a girl who is 25.
So, never go on a date with a local girl without seeing a passport or some form of identification. This might seem like a drastic move to make, but it’s far less of a headache then being arrested by the police for buying drinks for an underage person.
Foreigners are known as “barangs” by the locals, which is just local slang, and not an insult towards you. It does take a long time for them to stop doing that though.
Sex tourism in Cambodia is a fact of life, as it is throughout the rest of Asia, so it’s important that you don’t dress, act, or talk like a sex tourist.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to explain to any Khmer girl you meet that you’re a first-time visitor to Cambodia, and are looking for a long-term relationship.
You’ll see her guard drop almost immediately, and you’ll now be far more appealing to her as potential boyfriend or husband material.
You can separate yourself from the typical geriatric tourist mob by simply changing how you dress. Simple things like wearing a pair of jeans instead of shorts, and a nice shirt instead of some cheap tourist T-shirt can make a huge difference.
Even something as simple as drinking water instead of beer all day can be enough to directly change how any Khmer girl views you.
Where you stay will also say a lot about you, so even though all the nightlife and activity might be centered around the red light district, that’s the very last place you want to stay.
She will live at home with their parents, even if she’s in her late 20s. This is a very conservative country, and although it’s not a Christian country the predominant religion is Buddhism and children are taught to respect their elders.
So there is very little chance of her spending the night with you after your first date, and to be honest that’s the last thing you want because then she is no different than most of the immoral women you can meet anywhere in North America or Europe.
Khmer women are as traditional as their parents, even though the culture in the country is changing quite rapidly. This means that she will want you to prove that you’re interested in more than just having sex with her, and that you see a future with her as your wife or long term girlfriend.
We mentioned in the previous section that not drinking beer in public or on a date with a Khmer girl can make a big impression on her. The reason for this is that alcoholism is now at epidemic levels in the country, with most Khmer men drinking heavily from dawn to dusk each day.
While this is entirely their own business, Cambodian women suffer levels of domestic abuse that are unheard of in other countries. It can get so bad that it’s not even considered abuse unless blood has been drawn by the husband or boyfriend.
So, if you’re wondering why Cambodian women would want to date Western men, one of the first reasons is that she’s pretty sure you’re not going to beat her.
They understand that there are alcoholics in every country in the world, just simply not as many as there are in Cambodia.
They know that most Western men drink as part of socializing with friends, but not with the goal of returning home to beat their wife or girlfriend.
In return she will do everything in her power to be an exceptional girlfriend, and eventually wife. All she is looking for is a man who will show her the same level of love and affection that she shows to him.
Basically, she’ll appreciate you as much as you appreciate her.
Dating is a relatively new concept in Cambodia, so she might struggle with the idea of spending time or being intimate with a man she’s not actually married to.
Part of this is because arranged marriages are still the norm in Cambodia, so the idea of her parents not picking her future husband for her will seem quite odd at first.
Her traditional values will extend as far as wanting to remain a virgin until she’s married, so don’t be surprised if that comes up in conversation.
With that being said marriage is something pretty much every Cambodian woman is interested in because they view it as the most important day of their life, perhaps excluding the day their first child is born.
This is a cultural thing for them, so it is something they would have looked forward to their entire life, especially if that also means they get to marry their foreign Prince Charming.
It goes without saying that loyalty is both expected and given by Khmer women, so she will make you her top priority as long as you return the favor.
Hearing that Khmer women are conservative might make you think that they’re not much fun, but nothing could be further from the truth – they love to try new things and have new experiences, and love nothing better than to have those experiences with the man they care deeply for.
Lying is something that no Khmer woman will put up with, no matter what your reason for telling the lie is. Remember that the vast majority of Cambodian men drink quite heavily, so she’s been told every lie that you can possibly imagine.
Lying is a deal-breaker, and something that she will not find herself able to forgive you for.
While she will want to find out as much as possible about your country, your culture, and your own background, women here don’t enjoy philosophical or political debates.
There’s no particular reason for this, it is just something they don’t enjoy, so keep those deep conversations for your social media profiles because she will have no interest in them.
Finding Khmer Brides
As we’ve mentioned throughout this article, Cambodia is still a country very much in development, and one surprising side-effect of this is that there are no dedicated online dating sites in the country itself.
Several foreign sites do have thousands of profiles of single Khmer women, but they are not Cambodian dating sites.
It’s only a matter of time before this changes, but for right now it presents you with an additional challenge when looking for Cambodian girls for marriage or dating.
So, you will need to use dating sites outside Cambodia to actually meet Cambodian women, and the fees for those sites are typically between $20 and $30 per month.
You obviously need to be wary of all the typical dating scams that happen online such as being asked for money, being asked for gifts or anything else that would seem unusual on a normal Western dating site.
You even need to be aware of a particular scam where certain Khmer women will tell you that a prenuptial agreement is against Khmer culture, so she will refuse to sign one.
You need to react to this in the same way you would with Western women by simply dismissing the woman involved and moving on to your next potential prospect or girlfriend.
There are dozens of these agencies dotted throughout the country, but you need to avoid 90% of them because they are nothing more than organized scams.
In fact, several of the more prominent marriage agencies are nothing more than a front for human trafficking operations. There are exceptions to this rule, but it will take time to separate the worthwhile marriage agencies from the majority of truly awful and manipulative ones.
There are no known singles tours organized by Western dating agencies, so the only romance tours you’ll find available in Cambodia are those organized by certain marriage agencies.
Again you need to tread very carefully here because the vast majority of the marriage agencies in the country are run by scammers who do everything they can to separate you from your cash.
Getting Married in Cambodia
Believe it or not there is an actual wedding season in Cambodia which takes place between December and February each year, and the reason for the timing is because it rains less during those few key months.
So unless you enjoy standing around in the rain while exchanging vows, you’re best to follow this tradition.
Some other peculiarities of Cambodian dating culture are that women prefer to get married in months that have exactly 30 days, and the groom is expected to not only carry a sword but to display a certain level of proficiency with it.
This is a cultural trait which goes back thousands of years, based on the belief that a husband should be able to physically defend his wife and children if the need should arise.
Again you do need to be aware that you must be under 50 years of age and have a monthly income of at least US$2,500 per month to marry a Cambodian woman, regardless of what age she is. You can obviously choose to travel to another country and get married there instead.
Some basic rules you need to follow is that you need to be living in Cambodia for 21 days before applying for a marriage license.
You must then get permission from the Ministry of Foreign affairs to get married, who will then issue permission to the town hall of whatever province your fiancée lives in.
Once that’s complete you then need to provide a copy of your passport and Cambodian visa, proof that you are not already married (Certificate of Non-Impediment), a copy of a medical certificate to attest to your health, and a copy of a divorce decree or certificate, if applicable.
There’s a silly amount of paperwork involved in getting married in Cambodia, which is why so many couples choose to get married in either Vietnam or Thailand instead.
Cambodia is one of the few countries in the world where marrying Western men is highly desirable but not something that’s done very often. Again, most of the Western men living here are past their prime, so fit, young men looking for single, genuine Cambodian women will find themselves in demand.
There are thousands of single Khmer women waiting to meet you, so what are you waiting for?
