Polish dating sites generally do not have a ton of girls, because Poland has been much more economically successful than the Ukraine or even Russia since the fall of communism. Polish Girls

In Poland girls have often had an important historical role.  Mieszko I, the Polish king,  converted himself and his kingdom to Christianity in AD 966, at least in part because of pressure from his hot Polish girl, Princess Dobrawa.  Actually, Princess Dobrawa was more like a Czech mail order bride.  Her father was Boleslav the Cruel of Bohemia, which is today the main part of the Czech Republic, but you get my point.

Poland reached its greatest political influence under the Jagiellonian dynasty in the years following the union with Lithuania in 1386 and the subsequent defeat of the Teutonic Knights at Grunwald in 1410.  To some extent it is surprising that Poland did not remain the leading state in Europe, because, in addition to lots of sexy Polish girls, it had a large population, outstanding natural resources, and an extremely successful military tradition.  In fact, Polish cavalry remained the premier cavalry army in Europe for nearly five hundred years.

The reason hot Polish women did not end up defining European culture to the same extent as say their French, English, or German sisters was because of the bizarre organization of the Polish state.  The Polish nobility had enormous power.  In fact, Polish kings were elected by the nobility and then from the late 1500s on, a single Polish noble could block action by the Polish parliament (the Sejm) by refusing to agree with an otherwise unanimous decision.

This parliamentary device, known as the liberum veto, emasculated the Polish government, and made it impossible for Poland to compete with the other developing nation states of Europe.  So, hot Polish women did not get to define fashion like French chicks and eventually other Eastern European countries, particularly Russia, Prussia, and Austria, overcame Poland's advantages in population, natural resources, and military prowess.

Poland continually lost territory from the 1600s on and in 1795 it was partitioned out of existence by it’s neighbors, so overnight a beautiful Polish girl became Prussian, Russian, or Austrian, well at least officially.

One sexy Polish girl who was famous during this period was Countess Marie Walewska, Napoleon’s favorite mistress.  She met the little Corsican at a ball when she was twenty, in 1806, and carried on a hot affair with him until his final defeat in 1815.  Whether or not she was the reason Napoleon’s rule over Poland was considered very enlightened.  And certainly, he wanted to impress this sexy Polish girl, so he probably did treat her country well.  In fact, she bore him an illegitimate son in 1810.

After the defeat of Napoleon Poland returned to Russian, Prussian, and Austrian rule until finally obtaining independence in 1918 as the old powers collapsed in the blood and mire of the First World War.   In fact, Polish independence  was one of the 14 points enunciated by President Woodrow Wilson during World War I.   However, many hot Polish women still remember America’s contribution to their country’s independence.

One thing that makes Polish brides more attractive to many men is that there is a longer, richer history of Polish immigration to the West than in Russia or the Ukraine.
