Sometimes scientist spend a lot of time and effort to prove things that are as obvious as the sun rising in the east. For instance, some researchers at the University of Wisconsin apparently discovered that men are more likely to become attracted, …to their female friends and want to go out with them than the other way around.

In the study, 88 pairs of young male and female friends were asked to rate their attraction to each other on a secret questionnaire. Men – whether they were attached or single – were more likely to harbour an attraction to their female friends and want to go out with them than the other way around. The men also assumed that the women were more sexually interested in them than they actually were – and the women tended not to realize this.
Someone thought this was worth researching. Every guy has stumbled into the friendship trap once or twice… or three hundred times. It sucks.
But now you have scientific proof that you aren’t the only guy to fall into the friendship trap and waste your time with women who really have no interest in you: Nice, sexy, women who you like and who tell you all about their hopes and dreams, but will never – ever – sleep with you.
