Pure China Doll

I suppose we all grow up with stereotypes of people, races, cultures, and so on. I know I did. From my earliest days, I knew I had to get to China. And, hell yes, many of those earliest stereotypes were about Chinese girls. Where they came from, who knows? I am sure television, comics, tales from my uncle who fought in the war there; all these things contributed to the image I had of China.

Well, one of the deep rooted memories or ideas I had about China was the porcelain-fragility of the Chinese woman. Of course, like most stereotypes or idealizations, it had a shed of truth but was far from the whole picture.

I say all of this because beautiful 19 year-old Danqing comes so close to a picture of that ideal I formed so many years ago. Her pictures have an almost ethereal, slightly out of focus calm to them. You've got to check them out to see what I mean.

Damn, I'm American, and I have to say, I don't meet women like that here. Probably explains why I love "foreign" women; I have to have some of that exotica (both real and imagined). 

And if you haven't been with a beautiful Chinese girl, you won't understand how that fragility is both real and also masks a steely harshness, an ability to take on any and all challenges in life.
